Large amounts of quantitative data can only tell you so much about people's working lives. To understand what is going on behind the data further in-depth interviews have been conducted with a select group of Australia at Work participants. In these interviews various themes have been explored at more depth, including:

• the labour contract
• relations with managers and coworkers
• work and career transitions
• the role of unions in small workplaces

 A report detailing the findings will be released at the end of the year.
