2010 December 2010 The annual Australia
at Work newsletter has been sent to all participants. Have a read to learn
about the key themes in this year's data, and some of the media coverage
surrounding the project. You can click here to download it. 2009 December 2009 You
should receive your third newsletter shortly in the post. Once again it
highlights some of the key findings from the third year of our study. If

Newsletter July 2009 The
fieldwork for the third year of the Australia at Work study
was recently completed. A total of 6,801 people were interviewed
including 300 new recruits. The research team are now analysing the
results. The annual report will be released later in the year. Australia at Work: Wave 3

The Second Report is Released.
29 October 2008 Working Lives:
Statistics and Stories is the second
report from the Australia at Work project. The report contains details of
Australian's working lives in the first half of 2008 and 2007. The report finds that
while no dramatic changes have occured and employees remain happy with their
workplace relations, some issues persist. Australia has some of the longest
full-time hours among OECD countries, at 44 hours per week. Over half of the
workforce report that 'more and more is expected of me for the same
amount of pay'. There was an increase in the proportion of workers reporting
that they are finding it difficult to get by or coping on their current

Position available... soon
27 October 2008 Australia
at Work will soon be recruiting a new Project Manager. The position involves
management of the large longitudinal survey and reuires good
quantitative research skills. More details will be available here
by Monday 3rd November or visit the University of Sydney recruitment webpage.
Fieldwork Completed!
31 July 2008 All the interviews for the second year of the Australia at Work
survey have now been completed. We would like to thank all the people who were
able to participate in the survey this year and for all of Surveytalk's hard
work in conducting the interviews. A total of 7086 interviews were completed.
The Australia at Work research team are now busy compiling the data. The second
Australia at Work report will be released towards the end of the year.
New Website Launch
30 June 2008 Australia at Work has
a new website! The Australia at Work
researchers will be updating this website with all the latest developments in
the research, findings, and information for participants. Back in the field
1 March 2008 The
second round of telephone interviews with the Australia at Work participants
have now commenced. We will be attempting to contact the 8,341 participants we
spoke to last year. Fieldwork is being conducted by Surveytalk in Sydney and is
expected to take about 4 months.
Working Stories: In-depth interviews commence
20 February 2008 There is only so much
that large amounts of data can tell you. To gain a better understanding
of the statistics collected in Australia at Work, 50 in-depth interviews
will be conducted with participants of the study. The researchers, Sean Scalmer
and Shaun Wilson have commenced these interviews. The findings from these
interviews will be incorporated into the second annual Australia at Work
report. To find out more click here. 2007 Keeping in contact
1 December 2007 The Australia at Work participants are the most important factor
in this study. We will be keeping in touch with them throughout the duration of
the five year study. A newsletter has been mailed out to all participants
updating them on the progress of the study. To show our appreciation for their
participation, the Australia at Work Benefits card was included in the
newsletter. To find out more about this, go to the participants page of this website. The Benchmark Report is released
2 October 2007 The
first report on Australia at Work was released 2nd October 2007. The report
contains the findings from the first round of surveys of 8,341 people on such
areas such as agreement making, earnings, working hours and attitudes at work. You
